C'est, en effet, un drapeau américain qui se retrouvait en dessus du cercueil de l’ancien maire.

La nouvelle a rapidement envahi les réseaux sociaux. Un tel symbolisme a suscité un lot de questionnements sur la toile. Nombreux sont les internautes qui ont voulu savoir la raison pour laquelle ce drapeau recouvrait-il le cercueil du défunt. 

Selon des informations parvenues à la rédaction de Loop Haïti, l’ancien maire faisait partie d’une police américaine nommée Chaplain. Ainsi, cet acte aurait servi à marquer la présence de ce corps auquel il s'était adhéré au cours d'une periode de sa vie.
